CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY BOAT CLUB

is seeking to appoint an

ASSISTANT COACH

in succession to Edouard Blanc. CUBC’s Assistant Coach will report to Steve Trapmore MBE, recently appointed as the Club’s Chief Coach. He will play a fundamental role in preparing CUBC crews to achieve victory in the two annual races against Oxford: the University Boat Race and the Goldie/Isis Race.

The Assistant Coach will be involved in: the organisation and delivery of all aspects of rowing and land-training (including ergometer and physiological testing, and all selection trials) for the CUBC squad, the members of which are undergraduate or postgraduate students of the University; the preparation of the training programme; working alongside other members of the coaching team and, from time to time, distinguished visiting Coaches; and the preparation of crews for The Boat Race, the Goldie/Isis Race, National Trials and summer regattas.

In addition, the Assistant Coach will play a leading role in the CUBC Talent Development Squad Programme. The Development Squad seeks: to develop suitable college Boat Club oarsmen and coxswains to a level at which they can challenge for seats in the Blue Boat and Goldie crew; and generally to be involved in improving the standard of college rowing on the River Cam.
