The 2008/9 CUBC President started rowing at school to get stronger for rugby. Represented GB in the quadruple scull at U23 level in 2004. He was the World University Champion in the men’s double scull in 2006. Seated at 3 in last year’s Blue Boat, he was a member of the Light Blue four that won the Stewards’ Challenge Cup at Henley. Also competed at the World Cup regatta in Poland during the summer of 2008.

Despite growing up close to the Boat Race course, only began rowing three years ago after injury forced him to quit rugby. Won a bronze in the men’s coxed four at U23 level and was at 5 in the 2008 Blue Boat. Part of the CUBC Stewards’ Challenge Cup-winning four at Henley that became the first British University crew to be selected for a Senior World Cup regatta. Took bronze in the GB four at the World University Games.

Rowed in the Cornell first Varsity boat between 2005-2007. Replaced Shane O’Mara at stroke in the 2008 Blue Boat just days before the Race.

A PhD student who previously graduated from Cambridge with a BA in Anglo-Saxon, Norse & Celtic. Cambridge is Rebecca’s home town. She attended Chesterton Community College, just a few hundred metres from the Goldie boathouse, before going onto Impington Village College. Became a novice cox at Cambridge and went on to cox the 2004 Cambridge University Lightweight Men’s Boat race crew and the 2006 Cambridge University Women’s Blue Boat. Coxed the winning Blue Boat in 2007 and the losing 2008 Blue Boat. Also coxed the England Women’s Eight to a Gold medal at the Commonwealth Rowing Championships in 2006 and the Great Britain Women’s Eight to a Bronze medal at the 2007 European Rowing Championships.
