Closing dates for applications vary between different courses, with March 31st being the most common. However it is strongly recommended that applications be made as early as possible in the academic year before entry is sought.

Applicants for graduate study are normally expected to hold, or to be about to achieve, a First or good Second Class Honours degree (the U.S. equivalent being a GPA exceeding 3.0) in an appropriate subject.

Applicants for admission to postgraduate courses are asked to list their choices of college in order of preference, but admission to courses will be determined primarily by the relevant department, in contrast to undergraduate admissions.

Advice can also be provided by appropriate officers of the Cambridge University Boat Club in relation to:

  • the choice of course and college
  • the preparation of the application
  • the rowing programme
  • the feasibility of combining a particular course of study with the rowing programme.
